Instagram Rolls Out New Album Characteristic. Here's How to Utilize It

Many photographers bemoaned Instagram'south inability to tell a coherent visual story. For years, the social media platform locked photographers into stringing together single photos and captions.

Until now.

A new update to Instagram lets you add multiple photos and videos to a an album. Specifically, you can add up to x photos and videos into a single post. (This capability had been available to Instagram's advertisers just is now going to be widely available to all users.) This is changing how photographers share images—and their use of Instagram to market place their work to photograph editors and art directors.

When uploading to your feed, you'll see a new icon to select multiple photos and videos. You tin tap and concord to change the club that images appear and use a filter to everything at one time or edit one by one. These multi-epitome posts have a single caption, at least for now. On Instagram's profile grid, a little icon will indicate whether there are more than visual assets tied to the mail.

Here, co-ordinate to Instagram, is how you post multiple images:

Tap then tap Library at the bottom of the screen.
Tap .
Select up to 10 photos and videos from your phone's library. To adjust how each photo or video is cropped, tap information technology then bear on the screen to adjust how information technology fits in the frame. Keep in mind that you tin can only share posts as a square, not as a portrait or landscape. When yous're done, tap Side by side in the elevation right.
Tap a filter at the bottom of the screen to apply information technology to every photo and video you've selected, or tap a photo or video to edit it and add filters individually.
To change the order of your photos and videos, tap and hold ane then elevate it to some other spot. To remove a photo or video from your post, tap and concord ane, then drag it to at the top of the screen. When you're done, tap Next in the tiptop right.
You can add one location and explanation for your entire post, and tag someone in each individual photo. Tap Tag People, then swipe to find the photo you'd like to tag someone in.
Tap Share.
